Doula is a Greek word meaning "woman helping woman." A doula who takes care of a woman in labor is a "mother to the mother", helping her emotionally throughout childbirth. Giving birth to a baby is so much more than just a physical process; it engages the couple in a transformational experience. It is a key life event that is full of meaning and emotion. A doula also provides support and suggestions for couples that can enhance their experience of the birth.

After pregnancy, Rolfing reorganizes the body, immediately enhancing structural balance. By educating your muscles and organs back into place and shifting your total body back into alignment, Rolfing accelerates the process of restoring your body to its pre-pregnancy shape. Healing the Postpartum Belly Manual techniques for split abdominals Allison's sessions utilize gentle and comfortable techniques that help 're-stitch' the addomen back together after pregnancy and birth.

Allison teaches women these techniques so they can continue to work on their own bellies accelerating the process of bringing the abdominals back to center. This work applies to severe 'split' cases but also general cases where women are unhappy with the state of their belly or the rate at which the abdominal tone is coming back together.

What are separated abs? A common condition known as diastasis recti, separated abs are often left undiagnosed. Separated Abs can lead to lower back pain, poor and painful posture, and the dreaded "Mummy Tummy" because the ab muscles are unable to do their job.

Yoga and fitness for Motherhood

Fusion
Fusion is a fun and unique class that combines Power Yoga, cardio, weight training, Pilates & Barre. This energetic and challenging class is great for sculpting, building strength, stamina, balance and flexibility throughout your pregnancy as well as postnatal for weight loss. This class can be as challenging as you want! Pelvic floor exercises will be directed for our prenatal women and abdominal exercises will be the focus for our postnatal mothers. Tennis shoes required. Pre-crawlers are welcome in class if childcare is not available to you.

Belly Sculpt
Barre classes are fun and invigorating classes that are focused on sculpting long, lean muscles, building strength, creating a strong core and a toned lifted booty. Barre classes are also a great cardiovascular workout that incorporates flexibility.
The Barre Sculpt classes are designed for prenatal and postnatal women. Postnatal mamas are welcome to bring their babies to class. The Barre classes are a challenging workout for women in all stages, even with older children since you use your body weight you will always be able to move deeper and work harder in the exercises as you get stronger.

Stroller Booty Camp
A class for moms or expectant moms who already have children. Join us for a challenging workout in the great outdoors!  This class is focused on cardiovascular health, weight loss and strength training. Grab your strollers ~ we will give you exercise bands and other portable equipment to use as we head off to the park for an intense, motivating and fun workout. This class is open to both pre and postnatal women and modifications will be offered for expectant mothers. Tennis shoes required, class is rain or shine and meets at the Belly Bliss back door.  In the case of rain or cold, class will be held indoors in the studio, there is no excuse to miss this workout!  Please also bring a blanket large enough for baby to play on and mom to do exercise on in the park.  Jogging stroller NOT required!  This is a 50 minute class.

BYOBaby Mommy & Me Yoga
Excellent classes for busy mothers, allowing moms to enjoy yoga, introduce their baby to the practice, and promote mother and baby bonding. Yoga poses for mom promote wellness specific to post-partum bodies, and interactive poses for baby help with development and establishing good sleeping habits, as well as relief of re flux, gas and colic. This class is ideal for babies’ ages 6 weeks to crawling.

Parent and Toddler Yoga

Parent and Toddler yoga for an adult and a little one. This class is a great introduction to the practice of yoga for young children. Toddlers will learn the basic and fundamental poses of yoga through stories, songs and games. Yoga helps build strength, coordination, balance, patience, confidence and concentration while gently introducing children to the practice in a fun atmosphere. Parents and their children practice together. then the children play while parents get some adult yoga time. This class is ideal for toddlers ages 1 to 5 years. Adults with multiple children are welcome. Pre-mobile babies in carriers are welcome at no charge. For parents, this class is a special opportunity to meet others, get support, and learn about tot's emerging personality. No yoga is experience required.

Mommy & Me Dance & Play Time
This class is a movement class designed to get Momma and Baby moving together. Bonding occurs non-verbally in infants and toddlers and it is amazing how much we can communicate and connect with our children through dance and play. Classes will highlight a movement theme each week, children will have time to play with eachother, and parents will have time to chat. Siblings are welcome, $5 per additional child.

Parenting was never meant to be a solo endeavor. Join us for group on Thursday afternoons to get support and ideas form other mothers and our specialist Patience Bleskan. Patience is a child development specialist, parent educator and mother of four. As a group facilitator, Patience will provide resources, information and advice in a different areas each week.

Belly Bliss offers drop in Mommy & Me Yoga, play and dance classes and Toddler Yoga daily. We also are proud to offer Infant massage and class series for mom and baby such as Kindermusik and Signing Smart.
