"Brittany is nothing short of amazing. During my pregnancy I  suffered with some pretty extreme edema in my legs. Instructors and patrons at Belly Bliss suggested I try acupuncture. I only wish I had gone to Brittany sooner! I experienced immediate and dramatic relief after just the first treatment! My husband even noticed right away.  Near the end of my pregnancy I had to be hospitalized for a couple of weeks and Brittany was great enough to make "house calls" and treat me in my room.  Now that I have delivered our twins, I am seeing Brittany for lactation treatment/support and am seeing improvement in this area as well.  She really is extremely knowledgeable and excellent at what she does, plus she truly cares and is a wonderful person too." ... Acupuncture can be used as a treatment for fertility challenges.
It has also been shown to improve the success rate of modern day fertility treatments. As a stand alone treatment acupuncture is most effective in treating functional issues such as irregular periods or ovulation rather than structural problems such as a blockage in the fallopian tubes. Acupuncture works by balancing the body’s energy flow (qi) which in turn regulates the bodies systems and allows them to function smoothly. Studies have shown acupuncture to increase blood flow to the uterus, reduce stress hormones that can interfere with ovulation, regulate menstruation and ovulation, and improve pregnancy rates in women undergoing IVF. In an American study, 51% of women receiving acupuncture with IVF became pregnant as opposed to 36% of women receiving IVF alone.

Acupuncture is a safe form of support for pregnant women
Whether you use acupuncture to help relax and de-stress or for particular conditions or symptoms, it is a wonderful complement to the medical care that you receive throughout your pregnancy.  Some of the conditions acupuncture has been shown to help during pregnancy and postpartum:

Very thin, sterile needles are inserted into specific points to redirect, build and disperse blocked qi (vital energy). When qi is sufficient and flowing smoothly all body systems can function optimally. The body is constantly changing during pregnancy. Acupuncture can help to ease the process for mother and baby.

As a mother,  I understand the challenges and joys we experience caring for our children. As caregivers, we tend to put ourselves aside. No sleep, forget to eat, don’t exercise or take time to breathe. Hopefully you are doing all of that, but if you aren’t you are not alone. Acupuncture may be a wonderful way to help find balance in your life as mom. So take some time for yourself and come experience a stress relieving, body restoring acupuncture treatment!

Children and Family Health
Chinese medicine can assist in building children’s precious systems by prevention and symptomatic treatments. When treating children under 7, a technique called Shonishin, is typically used instead of needles. This non-needle technique allows the body to naturally heal itself, helping to build the immune system and treat conditions such as:
... Digestive disturbance
... Viral infections
... Colic
... Ear infections
... Enuresis- bed wetting
... Constipation or Diarrhea
... Hyperactivity- ADD/ADHD
... Colds/Flu’s
... Developmental Disorders
... Poor Sleep

Why choose Shonishin for your child?
It is a safe and effective non-needle technique that involves the use of small tools to gently stimulate acupuncture points and brush along meridians. The theory is the same as Traditional Chinese Medicine but the treatment is less invasive. Children love getting treated and the results are typically remarkable.  As a parent you want the best for your little one! Choose a natural solution to treat common childhood illness.  Brittany, our Acupuncturist has been practicing for 10 years and has treated children with everything from the common cold to cerebral palsy.

Acupuncture and Shonishin can be used to help prevent disease. Too often we allow our bodies to get run down which leads to illness. This ancient medicine has been used for thousands of years to prevent people from getting sick. I encourage a healthy, active lifestyle with treatments intended to assist in preventing disease. Acupuncture also has an effect on increasing T-cell count which will help boost the immune system. Send in your entire family this fall to help prevent colds/flus!

Acupuncture and Menstrual Irregularities including PMS
A woman’s menstrual cycle is a good indicator of her general health. PMS and irregular menstruation are early signs of potentially serious reproductive system disorders such as endometriosis, fibroids, cysts and infertility. PMS can disrupt a woman’s life in many ways including her relationships, self esteem, work productivity, exercise routine, sleep and the way she feels about her own body. Month after month millions of women suffer unnecessarily with symptoms that could be eliminated or reduced with acupuncture and lifestyle changes. Acupuncture is a natural, low cost form of treatment with virtually no side effects. PMS is not a normal monthly occurrence as many women accept it to be.

Chiropractic care can help women struggling with fertility challenges
Chiropractic care can improve the overall function of our nervous system, including the reproductive system. The nerve pathways to our reproductive organs pass through the lower portion of our back and sacrum. Any dysfunction, such as structural or biomechanical stress, can apply pressure to these nerves. When pressure is applied it can interfere with the nerve impulses and result in reduced function or overstimulation of the reproductive organs and associated tissues. Some women may display symptoms such as pain, muscle spasm, or fertility challenges. Many chiropractic patients have sought care for a low back or pelvic condition and found themselves pregnant! The average patient seeking care for infertility can expect to see positive changes in 3-4 months. This includes improvement in hormone levels, endometrial thickening, and normalization of luteal phases. Dr. Jaimy’s chiropractic treatments can be safely added to any existing fertility treatments.

"Dear Dr. Jaimy and Mary Anne, I just wanted to thank you so much for all of your support with my breech baby. I know I started coming to you fairly late at 35 weeks, but I am happy to report that he finally decided to flip at 37 weeks! My OB (Dr. D'Ambrosia at Rocky Mountain OB-GYN) was amazed this morning and said she wants to start referring patients to you. So glad I found you two and that I didn't take the external version route! It felt very good to cancel my c-section this morning." ... Brooke F.

Prenatal Chiropractic
Early in a woman’s pregnancy, her center of gravity begins to shift forward to the front of her pelvis.  Although a woman's pelvis is designed for pregnancy and childbirth, the displaced weight still increases the stress on her joints and muscles.  As the baby grows in size, this weight increases the curvature of her low back, which can increase the stress to the spinal discs. Any imbalances present in the woman’s pelvis prior to pregnancy become greatly exaggerated throughout her pregnancy.   This can cause new aches and pains, difficulty with daily tasks, or make it harder to exercise or sleep.   Dr. Jaimy’s chiropractic treatments restore the imbalances present in your pelvis, helping you to function at 100%.   Chiropractic care during pregnancy not only helps you to stay more comfortable, it can also help to facilitate your birth.  Regularly scheduled adjustments during pregnancy have been shown to substantially reduce a woman’s labor length. First time moms averaged a 24% shorter labor, while mothers who have already given birth experienced a 39% reduction in the average labor length, compared to controls.  Chiropractic adjustments during pregnancy can also help ensure your baby is in optimal fetal position. This reduces the likelihood of posterior, breech, or transverse presentation.  Regular chiropractic adjustments can safely continue up until the time of birth.

Prenatal Chiropractic Care Can:

... Reduce symptoms associated with pregnancy: low back pain, sciatic pain, rib pain, headaches, heartburn and constipation, hormonal and emotional changes
... Correct vertebral misalignment and relieve pressure with gentle and effective adjustments
... Help ensure that pelvic bones are properly aligned, facilitating a quicker, easier birth
... Re-establish the natural position and mobility of the joints
... Provide freedom from interference of normal nerve energy, which is vital for the development of a healthy baby and mother Chiropractic care is safe throughout pregnancy, for both Mom and Baby.

Women’s Health
Women have found a great many benefits from chiropractic care.  Chiropractic patients experience a reduction in premenstrual symptoms including cramping, bloating, low back pain, headache, and fatigue. Improvements in nervous system function also help regulate the digestive system.  Chiropractic patients previously diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome have seen a reduction or resolution of their symptoms. In the United States, nearly 60% of chiropractic patients are female.  Women especially are taking advantage of natural chiropractic care to help regulate hormones, manage stress, and help improve their immune system, spinal mobility and overall health.

Pediatric Chiropractic
Many parents are not aware of the benefits of chiropractic care for infants and children.   Their spines and nervous systems face daily challenges similar to ours.   Sometimes the symptoms are obvious: colic, reflux, chronic ear infections.   Sometimes they are more subtle, such as poor sleep habits, digestive challenges, or facial asymmetry.  Dr. Voigts specializes in newborn care, successfully treating infants only a few hours old.   Through gentle examination and palpation, any challenges to the infant spine and nervous system can be easily identified. Dr. Voigts uses a safe, low-impact method of adjusting to help resolve these challenges, allowing your child to reach their maximum potential.

Learn How to Breastfeed with a Lactation Consultant
It can be normal to experience challenges when you and your little one are learning how to breastfeed.  Challenges can be overwhelming, painful and discouraging however a Lactation Consultant can offer help, solutions and support!  Many moms give up breastfeeding before seeing a Lactation Consultant when what seemed to be a big problem could have been corrected with support. Belly Bliss is ecstatic about partnering with one of Denver's best Lactation Consultants, Marianne Kmak. "Being in the childbirth industry, I thought I had the tools I needed to breastfeed easily. However, after my son arrived, breastfeeding was a struggle. Marianne worked with us to resolve the problems in a way that was easy and relaxed. My son and I went on to have a great breastfeeding relationship and Marianne was a crucial part of that."

"Marianne was incredibly helpful in my breastfeeding experience. I had a home consult with her a couple days after my son was born. Breastfeeding was going well but it was really good to have an expert confirm that. She was very supportive and left me feeling empowered as a new mama. I believe that seeing Marianne presumptively set me up for successful and enjoyable long term breastfeeding. I would recommend seeing Marianne Kmak to every mother."

"After I had my baby, the hospital sent a lactation specialist to check in with me and my son. They showed me how to breast feed and it seemed like a piece of cake! However, after I was home the breastfeeding that seemed to be going so well wasn't anymore. I continued to try all the techniques i was shown and the baby LOOKED to have a good latch, but my pain was getting worse and worse and my breast became infected. I would start to sweat before each feeding anticipating the pain. I talked to friends and family and googled every possible solution, trying it all! I finally got the recommendation to see Marianne and she straight-up changed everything for me in one day. She came for a couple hours to see our routine and technique and immediately could see my problem. She fixed our latch, which improved the discomfort AND allowed for my baby to get much more milk during each feed. She was very warm and easy to talk to and continued to check in with me over the next couple weeks as I recovered. I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone who is having difficulty or doubt. I wish I had called her much sooner."  ... A.M.

Belly Bliss offers the massages for 60 & 90 minute sessions.

"Hi! I just wanted to leave a review for Lindsay.  She did an awesome job on my prenatal, I've never had a better prenatal massage (and this is my second pregnancy).  Really nice and relaxing experience.  Especially loved the ability to lay on my stomach for the massage.  Thanks, will be coming back soon!" ... K.W.

"Thanks for the massage, it was the best I've ever had. Lindsay was amazing. I almost cried when it was over"  ... Robyn

"I don't usually write reviews but the massage I had yesterday was seriously the best massage I have ever received in my life!   I even told Beth that as I left.   I was already looking at my schedule this morning to book another appointment.   I have never felt so incredibly relaxed every moment of a massage.   Even the sheets, pillow, eye cover was so heavenly.  THANK YOU"... Anne M

"I absolutely loved my massage, Beth was fabulous.  I left feeling so relaxed."  ... Tina H.

"Just wanted to make sure you know that Beth is such an amazing attribute to your company. Keep her around!" ... Kim B

"The post-natal massage with Lindsay was awesome!  She did a great job and I would definitely recommend her to friends.  You guys are great!"  ... Jennie

"My massage was probably the best I've ever had.  Normally, I don't like going to people I don't know or who I don't have strong referrals from friends for.  But, I don't know anyone who treats or who has had pelvic girdle pain.  So, I was desperately up at night Googling prenatal massage therapists and your website popped up everytime I did a search, I reluctantly decided to bite the bullet and go in blind in hopes of finding any sort of relief from this pain.  I haven't been sleeping, I can barely exercise, and my doc's office provided me with no solutions except a warm bath.  Nothing was helping.  My massage was awesome.  The pillows and supports you have for pregnant women are awesome! I wish I had them at home. But, most importantly, Miyako was amazing. It was like she could find my pain just by touching my back.  The massage was amazing, and I was almost brought to tears when I stood up after and noticed how much of my pain was gone. Just feeling any relief has given me some hope and I feel more responsible about my posture and behavior throughout the day, because now I KNOW that I can feel better and this situation isn't hopeless."  ... Stephanie F.

"I just wanted to let you know that my massage with Kate was one of the best, if not thee best, massage I have ever had.  She was friendly, professional, and really delivered exactly what I asked for.  I let her know that my hips were an area that was especially tight during my pregnancy and she spent extra time in that area.  Last night was the first night that I was not up most of the night with cramping hips!  I will definately be back to see her, you have a special treasure in her working there.  Thanks agian."
