Massage is not just for relaxing. It can have profound effects on how our bodies relate in gravity and how we perceive our world.

Maya Abdominal Massage

Misalignment of the uterus and pelvic congestion can contribute to numerous issues within a woman’s body; fertility issues, cramps, long/short menses, ovarian cysts, amenorrhea, and endometriosis/endometritis are just a few. This technique helps realign the uterus and alleviate pelvic congestion by externally massaging the abdomen.

Prenatal Massage

Focuses on alleviating the aches and pains that accompany pregnancy such as back, ligament, sciatic, and pelvic pains. It can also help balance hormones, improve outcome of labor, reduce stress, and increase feelings of nurturing and well-being.

Postnatal Massage

Helps to realign the body after birth and ease aches through the use of Myofascial release, deep tissue, and pelvic balancing. Each session starts and ends with structural analysis of the body.

Belly Love - Belly Treatment and Massage

This treatment is great for pregnant and postpartum moms. Starts with massage for those achy back muscles. For postnatal moms, this treatment can help with stretch marks and c-section scars.

Traditional Thai Massage
Thai massage is both energizing and relaxing. It is often called “Lazy Man’s Yoga” because the therapist uses her hands, knees, legs, elbows and feet to move the client into a series of yoga-like stretches and clears energy lines that run throughout the body. People often say that Thai massage is like doing yoga without all the work. The therapist uses muscle compression with or without heat, joint mobilization and acupressure. The client remains completely dressed and the massage is done on a futon-like mat on the floor to give both involved full range of motion. Some of the many benefits of Thai massage are:

• increases flexibility
• improves range of motion
• centers the mind and body
• improves circulation
• reduces stress
• increases energy
• maintains vitality

Thai Yoga Massage for Pregnancy/ Postpartum:  Combines acupressure and very gentle stretching to prepare the mother for childbirth and/or helps in recuperating from labor. The massage is usually practiced in a side-lying position, depending how long the mother can comfortably lay on her back before the sacrum softens. The massage starts at the feet and works its way up the body gathering the energetic flow and finishing at the head.Thai yoga massage is great at relieving the lower back of all those aches and pains associated with the weight of carrying the little one(s) and is very effective at relieving sciatica and leg tension. It's also great at getting into those obscure and difficult to reach areas of the upper thoracic back area and shoulders. It rhythmically stimulates and quietens, relaxes and energizes within the movements of the body and with the breath. Area specific Thai Massage (60 min only):  Designed to target specific areas of trouble such as ongoing chronic aches and injuries.  The therapist may utilize intensive stretching, deep tissue acupressure, Thai hot herbal compresses and balms to help facilitate normal range of motion.

Dry Brushing Skin Massage
This treatment helps to encourage circulation and blood flow, stimulates the immune system, helps to detoxify the body, and is a great exfoliator. Using soft brushes and light touch over the entire body, lymph is encouraged to move safely away from congested areas.  This treatment is great for pregnant moms experiencing swelling and edema. 60 minute

Chakra Bliss

About our Massage Therapists

Teresa Schmidt
Teresa Schmidt was born and raised in Utica, NY. Her love of nature and gardening sprouted from her grandmother’s ability to keep a huge garden and sitting on her back porch, silently watching over the yard. Teresa’s love of alternative healing methods was also inspired by her grandmother. From an early age, Teresa felt there must be natural ways heal the body. After a few years of soul searching up and down the east coast, she found where she was meant to be, in Denver. Teresa knew she wanted to be a massage therapist and once she received a Mayan abdominal massage, she enrolled in school. Graduating from the Massage Therapy Institute of Colorado in March of 2006, she went on to enroll in the school’s Year II program. This training further sharpened her skills in Myofascial release, joint mobilizations, Chinese meridians, and structural integration. Her passion to help empower women guided her to learn prenatal, labor, and postpartum massage from Kate Jordan, infant massage instruction from the International Loving Touch Foundation, and Maya Abdominal Massage from Rosita Arvigo and Ms Beatrice Waight. She continues to take classes to further her knowledge to help women. Teresa feels that in order to bring better balance to this world, women need to educate their minds, take care of their bodies, and most of all, feed their souls.

She is currently enrolled in the Hakomi Therapy training and is fascinated by how inter-connected the body, mind and spirit are, and is continually learning ways to support health by honoring the whole person.
