Belly Bliss Doulas offers a fresh approach to your doula care.  Working as a group of four educated and experienced doulas we support our moms throughout their pregnancy, birth and postpartum period.  We are proud to offer a monthly Belly Circle for all of our clients and perspective clients to come and chat about important topics pertaining to childbirth and pregnancy such as nutrition, breastfeeding, optimal fetal positioning and much more.  Working as a group guarantees our moms receive the most thorough information and a doula at their labor and birth who is fresh, rested and energized.  Belly Bliss Doulas are skilled and knowledgeable about pressure points, massage, aromatherapy, positioning and other comfort techniques that can be used in childbirth and labor to help mom.

Belly Bliss offers doula services to assist you in your pregnancy and birth!  Doula is a Greek word meaning "woman helping woman."  A doula who takes care of a woman in labor is a "mother to the mother", helping her emotionally throughout childbirth. Giving birth to a baby is so much more than just a physical process; it engages the couple in a transformational experience. It is a key life event that is full of meaning and emotion. A doula also provides support and suggestions for couples that can enhance their experience of the birth.

A doula does not take the place of dad, husband or partner; as a doula our goal is to get them more involved in the labor and birth while relieving the pressure for them to know exactly what to do.

We are prepared to provide physical (non-medical), emotional and informational support to women and their partners during labor and birth, as well as to families in the weeks following childbirth. We offer a loving touch, positioning and comfort measures that make childbearing women and families feel nurtured and cared for.

A Doula offers many benefits to the Father or partner as well:
*
Increase in father’s/partner’s confidence levels and decrease in stress
*
Alleviation of anxiety by serving as a resource for answering questions, offering suggestions and encouragement
*
Facilitating fuller participation in the birth by the father/partner
*
Filling in for the father/partner when they need to take a break
*
Being there to allow someone to accompany the infant during the first medical assessments while knowing Mom is also being supported
*
The emotional relief that comes with knowing you are not alone in the supportive role

Testimonials:

“As first time parents, the whole process was certainly exciting but also full of unknowns. Your constant reassurance, encouragement and extensive knowledge in birthing was a welcomed, trusted source of information in what seemed like a (large), highly subjective advice pool. During the most stressful period (the birth), your presence was especially valuable. Your ability to calm, coach and encourage both of us during the entire process was really wonderful.”
-Jason Friedlander Denver, CO

“The role of the Doula was to keep everything in perspective when fatigue and fear kicks in. There were definitely points when decisions were being pushed by the medical staff and having a Doula to help us understand that we didn't need to make split second decisions helped. Later in the birth as I saw my wife in obvious pain my calmness and patience thinned and having a Doula there to keep things calm really helped me.”
-Gareth Thomas Denver, CO
