Belly Bliss offers many classes, workshops and services for women during their postpartum time and into motherhood.

Stroller Booty Camp is Back!

A class for moms or expectant moms who already have children. Join us for a challenging workout in the great outdoors! This class is focused on cardiovascular health, weight loss and strength training. Grab your strollers~ we will give you exercise bands and other portable equipment to use as we head off to the park for an intense, motivating and fun workout. This class is open to both pre and postnatal women and modifications will be offered for expectant mothers. Tennis shoes required, class is rain or shine and meets at the Belly Bliss back door. In the case of rain or cold, class will be held indoors in the studio, there is no excuse to miss this workout! Please also bring a blanket large enough for baby to play on and mom to do exercise on in the park.

Yoga & Fitness Classes for Mom & Baby!

BYOBaby Booty Camp: A great fitness class for Mom that includes baby!  Ready to get your pre-baby body back?  BYOBaby Booty Camp is focused on cardiovascular health, weight loss, strength training and core work.  Tennis shoes required, babies should be 6-8 weeks or older and able to have control of their heads and necks.  Older babies and toddlers welcome, participants are responsible for their baby or child during class.

Post Belly Yoga: This special class is designed for the postpartum period after mom has given birth to help her transition back into her desired workout routine. The postures taught in this class encourage your body to come back together, bringing your muscles, bones and ligaments in the proper alignment. Hip openers and wide stance postures are avoided in this class. Come surround yourself with the comfort and support of other women in an open environment where sharing birth, baby and postpartum stories are welcome. Please check with your doctor or midwife before starting physical activity after birth. Infants are welcome although they will not be participating in class.

Post Belly Abs, Buns and Hips:Now that your baby is here make time to focus on getting your body back.  This Pilates based class is designed to target those trouble areas and burn calories.  Babies welcome in class and will be used for parts of the class. Babies should be 6-8 weeks or older and able to have control of their heads and necks.

What are separated abs? A common condition known as diastasis recti, separated abs are often left undiagnosed. Separated Abs can lead to lower back pain, poor and painful posture, and the dreaded "Mummy Tummy" because the ab muscles are unable to do their job.

Pilates Booty Camp:Pilates can be one of the best exercises to do both during and after pregnancy.  Pilates builds your abdominal, back, hip and pelvic floor muscles to support a more comfortable pregnancy and delivery. Pilates is also amazing for new moms getting their figures and tummies back after baby is born!  Join us for this 50 minute Pilates mat class and get ready to strengthen, tone and stretch your muscles while burning calories and gaining comfort.  Click here to see our schedule.

BYOBaby Mommy & Me Yoga: Excellent classes for busy mothers, allowing moms to enjoy yoga, introduce their baby to the practice, and promote mother and baby bonding. Yoga poses for mom promote wellness specific to post-partum bodies, and interactive poses for baby help with development and establishing good sleeping habits, as well as relief of reflux, gas and colic. This class is ideal for babies’ ages 6 weeks to crawling.

Booty CampA circuit style class focused on cardiovascular health, weight loss and strength training. Fit balls, steps, bands and body weight will be used to give women an intense, motivating workout. Bitty Belly Toddler Yoga:
This class is a great introduction to the practice of yoga for young children. Toddlers will learn the basic and fundamental poses of yoga through stories, songs and games. Yoga helps build strength, coordination, balance, patience, confidence and concentration while gently introducing children to the practice in a fun atmosphere. Parents and their children practice together. This class is ideal for toddlers ages 1 to 5 years. Adults with multiple children are welcome. Pre-mobile babies in carriers are welcome at no charge. Drop-in rate is $17 or use your Belly Bliss class package, one class covers one adult and one toddler. Additional todllers are $5.

Mommy & Me Educational Classes

Stimulingua-Singing Spanish Series

Come and enjoy this Spanish second language stimulation program. This program is specifically designed to stimulate your child’s second language abilities using a neuro-linguistic approach. Music and interactive materials play an important role of our lessons, making the modeling of the language simple for non-Spanish speaking parents. Our classes are interactive and fun with meaningful activities creating and inviting and conducive-to-learning experience for families. “It is a smart and worthy idea to expose your child to a second language early on. Signing Smart play classes are filled with songs and fun activities to engage parents and children, as well as loads of developmental information to help you understand how your child learns and acquires language at every age. Services

Rolfing
After pregnancy many women struggle to "get their body back," and to "feel like themselves again." During pregnancy and birth, muscles and bones move to new places taking on new shapes in response to your baby's growth and your experience of labor. For instance, the hips and ribs expand and the abdominal muscles move towards the sides of your stomach. After birth, you are constantly nursing, holding, and hugging your new baby, often with an exhausted body. Structural Integration work helps educate your muscles back into place and your total body back to alignment. The work brings comfort and awareness to your movement patterns so that you can rock and hold your new baby in a way that is healthy for both of your bodies.

Healing the Postpartum Belly:
Manual techniques for split abdominals
Allison's sessions utilize gentle and comfortable techniques that help 're-stitch' the addomen back together after pregnancy and birth. Allison teaches women these techniques so they can continue to work on their own bellies accelerating the process of bringing the abdominals back to center. This work applies to severe 'split' cases but also general cases where women are unhappy with the state of their belly or the rate at which the abdominal tone is coming back together.

Psychotherapy
The decline of huge hormonal surges has been known to cause depression in the most healthy of women after delivery. Feeling supported, understood and NORMAL is very healing during that time. Seeing yourself in a new identity and role can also be a shock to fragile postpartum sense of self. Learning to adjust can be difficult in some cases. Coming in for some support and ways to handle these changes can be beneficial.
*Birth plans sometimes do not go always go as scheduled. Handling loss, caesarian section and other birth “traumas” can be very difficult and add to postpartum depression.

Nutrition
Motherhood – Pregnancy, childbirth, and nursing take a lot of nutrients from the mother. Proper nutrition can help replenish vitality and prepare the mother for future pregnancies.

Children – Properly nourishing babies and toddlers is one of the most crucial first steps to raising a healthy family. Moms and Dads equally benefit from learning what makes good food for their children.

Chiropractic
Chiropractic care can also help after childbirth. In the eight weeks following labor and delivery, the ligaments that loosened during pregnancy begin to tighten up again. Ideally, joint problems brought on during pregnancy from improper lifting or reaching should be treated before the ligaments return to their pre-pregnancy state-to prevent muscle tension, headaches, rib discomfort, and shoulder problems.

Acupuncture
A woman’s menstrual cycle is a good indicator of her general health. PMS and irregular menstruation are early signs of potentially serious reproductive system disorders such as endometriosis, fibroids, cysts and infertility. PMS can disrupt a woman’s life in many ways including her relationships, self esteem, work productivity, exercise routine, sleep and the way she feels about her own body. Helps to realign the body after birth and ease aches through the use of Myofascial release, deep tissue, and pelvic balancing. Each session starts and ends with structural analysis of the body.

Personal Training
Exercise and being active is also very beneficial to women after having their babies in helping them loose weight, regain body structure and help with energy levels. We enjoy working with women in all stages of parenthood and it is never too early or too late to begin. Our instructors are all certified and experienced and willing to do one-on-one training and small group sessions.
